James Webb Space Telescope
The James Webb Space Telescope is the most powerful telescope ever launched into space, with improved infrared resolution that will allow it to view objects that are older, fainter, and more distant than anything seen by the Hubble Space Telescope.

Join us for a talk about the James Webb Space Telescope and its significance in the frontier of space.

Abou Duane Ray: I am now retired and recently moved to Flagstaff. During the last several years I have taught various non-credit classes at Community Colleges in Portland, Oregon and across the river in Vancouver, Washington. The subjects taught were related to my background, a PhD in Physics, or my interest in art and artists. Some science topics were 'Global Warming,' 'Gravitational Waves,' 'James Webb Space Telescope,' and 'Great Scientists.'

The 'Gravitational Waves' talk was recently presented to the local Astronomy Club and also to an NAU freshman class.

Some art topics were 'Banksy and Graffiti,' 'The Wyeth Family,' 'Rothko,' 'Calder,' and others.

Both science and art are interesting to me. Teaching about these topics has encouraged me to explore each in more depth.

I welcome the opportunity to speak to adult groups and encourage their interest in these topics - especially science.
