Lunar Lecture: Dr. Wernher von Braun's Contribution to US Spaceflight Program
Astrophysicist Kaspar von Braun will be discussing Dr. Wernher von Braun's contribution to the US Spaceflight Program and more on Wednesday, October 9 at Coconino Community College Lone Tree Campus as part of the Lunar Legacy Lecture Series.
Dr. Kaspar von Braun is an astrophysicist at Lowell Observatory and the grandnephew of Dr. Wernher von Braun, one of the pioneers of the US spaceflight program that led to the first lunar landing. Kaspar will share stories of Wernher, both professional and personal, providing historical insight into Wernher’s involvement with the Skylab project of the 1970s and early steps toward the Space Shuttle program of the 1980s and beyond.
