April is a CCC success story. She came to CCC after dropping out of two other community colleges and during a difficult divorce. Knowing that something needed to change in her life, she enrolled in classes and started going to CCC in January of 2002. During her time at CCC, April was a member of Phi Theta Kappa and received numerous awards including Distinguished Chapter Officer; Excellence in Administration of Justice; and was a member of the All-Arizona Academic Team.
After completing an Associates Degree in Administration of Justice at Coconino Community College in 2004, April went on to complete a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice and a Bachelors Degree in Public Agency Service (emphasis in Public Administration) at Northern Arizona University in 2007. She also completed a Masters Degree in Administration (emphasis in Professional Writing) in May of 2015. All degrees were completed with the highest honors and April credits her success in education to the foundation she received from the amazing faculty and staff at Coconino Community College.
April has worked for non-profit organizations and educational institutions for most of her career. Prior to accepting the position as Executive Assistant to the President at Coconino Community College in June of 2014, April worked for Northern Arizona University. Her positions included Graduate Admissions Coordinator for the Graduate College and Administrative Associate for the School of Forestry. Before joining NAU, April served as Executive Assistant to the President for the WHEEL Council, a non-profit organization focusing on substance abuse and HIV prevention.
In her free time, April enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and enjoying the beauty of Flagstaff.
