3 Northern Arizona community college boards meet

Page Chamber creates scholarship for CCC students
PAGE, Ariz. -- The President of the Coconino Community College Foundation Chris Bavasi recently announced that the Page/Lake Powell Chamber of Commerce has created a $1,000 scholarship in their name to help a deserving CCC student each year. The student must be enrolled at the Page CCC Campus, enroll in a minimum of 6.0 credit hours of classes, Live within the Page/Lake Powell area, maintain a grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or better and be a degree seeking student. CCC receives TRiO grant
Flagstaff, Ariz. -- Director of Student Support Services at Coconino Community College, Veronica Hipolito, announced today that Coconino Community College (CCC) will receive the first TRIO Grant since the College opened in 1991. The grant will be in the amount of $220,000 per year starting on Sept. 1, 2010, through Aug. 31, 2011. CCC, Goodwill collaborate to help area teens
Flagstaff, Ariz. -- A collaborative effort between representatives of Goodwill Industries of Northern Arizona and Coconino Community College produced the first ever "First Jobs Summer Youth Employment Program" graduating class. Seven area teens participated in The First Jobs Summer Youth Employment Program which focused on building job skills through classes and workshops and hands-on work experience. Highlands Fire Department donation benefits CCC Fire Sciences
Highlands Fire Department Chief Mike Bradly hands over a Cascade System air bottle to Public Safety, Law and Allied Health Department Chairman David Ramos, making their donation to the Fire Science program official. Nackard's Hi-Line Vending supports CCC Foundation
Flagstaff, Ariz -- The Nackard Companies/Hi-Line Vending Operations Manager, Stacey Wolter presented a check donated by President and CEO, Patrick Nackard for nearly $4,000 last week to Coconino Community College’s Foundation as part of an ongoing commitment to the College. The amount of the check is based on a percentage of the proceeds from vending sales that Hi- Line generates at the College throughout the year. White Works to Shed Light on Arizona Education
CCC District Governing Board member, Nat White, has been appointed to the oversight committee for the Arizona Productivity Improvement Imperative (APII) grant.
