Garcia to chair CCC District Governing Board

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- Ms. Patricia Garcia was elected Chairwoman for the Coconino Community College District Governing Board (DGB) by her peers on the board. Ms. Garcia has served as a DGB member since 2011, as the District 2 Representative, and as Vice Chair since 2014. She replaces Mr. Patrick Hurley who served as Chairman from January 2009 to January of 2015. Mr. Hurley was re-elected as the District 4 Representative for a six-year term in November of 2014 and will continue to serve on the board. 

She is a native of Flagstaff and has been actively involved in the Flagstaff community as a graduate of the Flagstaff Leadership Program, Flagstaff 20/20 Vision Task Force Member, United Way Board Member and Past President, Coconino County Planning and Zoning Commission, and has served on many other boards and commissions. Ms. Garcia earned her bachelor's and master's degrees at Northern Arizona University and looks forward to fostering the continued partnership between CCC and NAU. 

President of Coconino Community College, Dr. Leah L. Bornstein, said, "I, and the other members of the Board, are truly grateful for Mr. Hurley's outstanding leadership.
