Foundation Scholarship Requirements

CCC Foundation Scholarship Information & Steps

The Scholarship Application for 2019-2020 has closed. Applications will complete the review process in late April to early May.  Students who were awarded a scholarship will be notified in mid-May of their award.  Students who applied but were not awarded a scholarship are not notified. 

 

*All CCC Foundation scholarships may be applied towards tuition, fees, books, living, and other educational expenses.

 

CCC Scholarship Foundation Opportunities

ALAS Latinos Unidos Scholarship

  • Scholarship requires a minimum 1000-word essay to determine need and identify the student’s educational & personal goals.
  • Must be a DACA or Undocumented student living in Coconino County
  • Must have less than 45 credits earned in post-secondary higher education
  • Must attend two (2) ALAS club related events per semester and one (1) community event per semester

Antelope Point Marina Scholarship

  • Have and maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA or higher
  • Enrolled in 3 credit hours or more per semester
  • Preference is given to current or past employees of Antelope Point Marina
  • Preference is given to members of the Navajo Nation
  • Preference is given to members of LeChee Chapter

APS Scholarship

  • Have and maintain cumulative 2.0 GPA or higher
  • Enrolled in 6.0 credit hours or more
  • Be degree or certificate seeking
  • Have an academic major declared

Banjo Billy Scholarship for Underserved Native American Students

  • Students must provide proof of Tribal Enrollment
  • Students must explain the need for the scholarship

Beatrice Watson-Zerr Memorial Scholarship

  • G.P.A. of 2.5 or greater
  • Must be a resident of Coconino, Navajo, or Apache County
  • Must be a female
  • Preference to non-traditional student (25 or older) and or a single parent 

Betty Steyskal  Life-Long Learning Scholarship

  • Have and maintain cumulative 2.0 GPA or higher
  • Female student with preference to students ages 50+
  • Any major will be considered
  • Must demonstrate financial need (FAFSA)

Blue Cross Blue Shield of AZ Nursing Scholarship

  • Have and maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Must have completed 1 year in the CCC Nursing program successfully
  • Must express an interest in nursing in rural Arizona
  • Must be a resident of Coconino County 

 

Coconino Community College Employee-Funded Scholarship

  • Have and maintain cumulative 2.0 GPA or higher
  • Enrolled in 6 credit hours or more 
  • Must be a single parent
  • Applicant NOT required to be a CCC employee

 

CCC2NAU Raymond Educational Foundation Scholarship

  • Must be enrolled in 12 credit hours each semester
  • Have and maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Must be enrolled in the CCC2NAU program
  • Must demonstrate a committed interest in continuing education at NAU
  • Must be a resident of Coconino County

 

CCC2NAU President's Scholarship

  • Have and maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Must be enrolled in the CCC2NAU program
  • Cannot have earned a degree from another community college
  • Must be in good standing with CCC (not on academic probation)
  • Must demonstrate a committed interest in continuing education at NAU
  • Must be a Coconino County resident

 

Chance Couillard Memorial Scholarship

  • Preference is given to Coconino County residents
  • Must have less than a 3.0 GPA
  • Enrolled in 6 credit hours or more
  • Demonstrated financial need (FAFSA)
  • Enrolled in either AAS-Fire Science or AAS-Paramedic Degree

 

City of Williams, Arizona Scholarship

  • Have and maintain a cumulative 2.5 GPA or higher
  • Enrolled in 6 credit hours or more
  • Must be a resident of the City of Williams

 

Dennis M. Connell Scholarship

  • Have and maintain cumulative 2.5 GPA or higher
  • Enrolled in 6 credit hours or more
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Declared major in Public Safety, Law, Allied Health, Fire Science, or Criminal Justice

 

Dr. Inga Mahler Scholarship

  • Have and maintain cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Enrolled in 9 credit hours or more
  • Must be a resident of Coconino County
  • Preference is given to Williams / Grand Canyon residents
  • Must be in good standing with the Office of Student Services

 

Dr. John W. Glenn Memorial Scholarship

  • Must be a non-traditional student, returning to school either to improve current career, begin a new career to seek an education that will lead to a better life for themselves and their family.
  • Enrolled in 6 credit hours or more
  • Have and maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA or higher

 

Dream Keeper Scholarship

  • Have and maintain cumulative 2.5 GPA or higher
  • Enrolled in 6 credit hours or more
  • 25 years or older
  • Demonstrated financial need (FAFSA)

 

Eric Pellatz Memorial Scholarship

  • Must be registered with the CCC Disability Resources Office
  • Must have a 2.0 GPA or higher
  • Must be enrolled for at least 9 hours to be eligible
  • Must be in good standing with the Office of Student Services
  • Preference will be given to a student with financial need

 

Flagstaff Marine League Charities

Have and maintain cumulative 2.5 GPA or higher

  • Enrolled in 12 credit hours or more
  • Must be an honorably discharged United States Marine

 

Flagstaff Rotary Scholarship

  • Have and maintain cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher
  • High School graduate or GED
  • Degree or certificate-seeking student

 

Foundation President's Award

  • Enrolled in 6 credit hours or more
  • Must have a minimum CCC cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Demonstrated community service

 

Hartzell Foundation High School Scholarship

  • Have and maintain cumulative 2.5 GPA or higher
  • Enrolled in 12 credit hours or more
  • High school graduate
  • Must be a resident of Coconino County
  • Demonstrated participation in community service or extra-curricular activities

 

Isaac’s Ant Foundation Scholarship

The ideal candidate would be an individual that has had a physical or learning disability from an early age that is an obstacle to their academic success. The individual would need to be registered in the disability resources program at CCC and have an Individualized Educational Plan (I.E.P.) from Disability Resources, and have an interest in the sciences.
 

  • Preference is given to a student with a G.P.A. of 3.0 or greater
  • Preference to a full-time student (12 credit hours or more per semester).
  • Must demonstrate financial need (Pell Grant Eligible).
  • Preference given to a student enrolled in the CCC2NAU program
  •  Must be pursuing a degree in the sciences

 

Jason Kurtz Memorial Nursing Scholarship

  • Have and maintain cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Enrolled in 9 credit hours or more
  • Applying for admission to, accepted in, or enrolled in CCC Nursing Program
  • Must be classified as an Arizona state resident
  • Demonstrated participation or 20+ volunteer hours in Northern Arizona within two years prior to application
  • Required scholarship essay must address experience or knowledge of oncology and/or hospice nursing fields. Please write about this topic as a portion of the standard online scholarship application essay

 

K & G.W. Scholarship

  • Have and maintain cumulative 2.0 GPA or higher
  • Enrolled in a CCC Vocational Program

 

Larry Goltz Memorial Accounting Scholarship

  • Have and maintain cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Enrolled in or indicated a major in accounting
  • Completed a minimum of 12 semester hours at CCC

 

Loven Contracting Building Relationships Scholarship

The ideal candidate for the scholarship would be a student that is enrolled at Coconino Community College with the intention of completing the 24 credit Construction Technology certificate.
 

  1. To be eligible for the Loven Contracting Building Relationships Scholarship, the student must complete a short essay answering the question: I am seeking the construction technology certificate because. _______________
  2. Carry a minimum of 12 credit hours.
  3. Student must maintain a 2.5 g.p.a. to receive funding for the subsequent semester.
  4. Student will be chosen by a committee that would consist of CCC faculty, a member of the Loven Construction team and 3 community members at large.
  5. Must be a resident of Coconino, Apache or Navajo Counties.

 

Marshall Knoles Scholarship

  • Have and maintain cumulative 2.5 GPA or higher
  • Enrolled in 12 credit hours or more
  • Preference is given to Coconino County residents, second preference to Arizona residents
  • Single parent or returning student 25 years or older
  • Demonstrated financial need (FAFSA) 

 

Northern Arizona 4-H Scholarship

The scholarship is intended to advance education and skills for students who best demonstrate the 4-H Pledge in their everyday living, We encourage confident and thoughtful leadership.

  • The student must have a 3.0 grade point average (G.P.A.)
  • Must be a Coconino County resident
  • Seeking a degree or certificate from Coconino Community College
  • Must have demonstrated background as a 4-H Club Member within the past 15 years

 

Nothern Coconino County / Page Scholarship

  • High School graduates must have a 2.5 GPA or higher
  • GED applicants may be eligible as well
  • Carry a minimum of 6 credit hours
  • Must be a resident of Fredonia or the Page Unified School District
  • The scholarship is prorated by the number of credit hours student is carrying

 

Page / Lake Powell Chamber of Commerce Scholarship

  • Have and maintain cumulative 2.5 GPA or higher
  • Enrolled in 6 credit hours or more at CCC Page Campus
  • A resident of Lake Powell area
  • The scholarship will be used for tuition and/or books
  • Must be degree or certificate seeking

 

Palette to Palate Visual Arts Majors' Scholarship

  • Have a minimum 2.5 GPA (from high school) or 3.0 GPA (from college)
  • Enrolled in 6 credit hours or more
  • Must be a declared Visual Arts major (Associate of Fine Arts in Visual Arts) and indicate an intent to register for at least 3 credit hours of art classes per semester
  • Preference will be given to Coconino County residents

 

Pepsi/Hi-Line Scholarship

  • Have and maintain cumulative 2.5 GPA or higher
  • Enrolled in 6 credit hours or more
  • Any major will be considered
  • Must be in good standing with CCC (not on academic probation)

 

Raymond Educational Foundation Scholarship

  • Have and maintain cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Enrolled in 12 credit hours each semester (or 9 credit hours for students enrolled in the Nursing program)
  • Must be a resident of Coconino County
  • Preference given to Coconino County high school graduates

RE-BOOT Scholarship

  • Complete a FAFSA application
  • Have a minimum 1.5 GPA from CCC
  • Scholarship must be used to retake a class within a degree program that was previously unsuccessful (grade of D, F, I, or W)
  • To qualify, applicants must complete a short essay explaining a plan for success when re-taking the class.

 

Scarves for Scholarships

  • Have and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Enrolled in at least 8 credit hours or more
  • Enrolled in CCC Nursing Degree Program
  • Must be a resident of Coconino County

 

SRP Navajo Scrubber Scholarship

  • Have and maintain cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Enrolled in 12 credit hours or more at CCC Page Campus
  • Seeking Associate Degree with intent to complete bachelor degree at another institution
  • Must be classified as Arizona state resident
  • Demonstrated financial need (FAFSA)
  • MUST submit an essay describing educational goals and how student envisions his/her degree having a positive impact upon the Navajo Nation with reference to economic, social, medical, or educational development

 

STEP-UP Scholarship

  • Have and maintain cumulative 2.0 GPA or higher
  • Enrolled in minimum 3 credit hours and maximum 7 credit hours for first two semesters
  • Attend Orientation and complete four S.T.A.R.T. (Student Transitions and Academic Readiness Training) workshops
  • Meet with Phi Theta Kappa mentor three times during each semester
  • High school graduate or GED
  • Preference to Arizona residents and demonstrated financial need (FAFSA)

 

Theresa Givens - Soroptimist International of AZ Peaks Scholarship

  • Have and maintain cumulative 2.5 GPA or higher
  • Enrolled in 9 credit hours or more
  • Seeking associate degree with intent to complete bachelor degree
  • Must be a resident of Coconino County
  • Demonstrated community service participant 
  • Demonstrated financial need (FAFSA)

 

Theresa M. Alvarado Scholarship

  • Have and maintain cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Enrolled in 6 credit hours or more
  • Must have completed at least one full-time semester at CCC while enrolled in 12 credit hours or more
  • Must be a resident of Coconino County
  • Preference is given to a single parent

 

Veterans Scholarship

  • Must have and maintain 2.5 GPA or higher
  • Enrolled in 6 credit hours or more
  • Any major will be considered
  • Must be honorably discharged from any branch of the U.S. Military

 

 

External Scholarship Opportunities

The Coconino Community College Foundation recommends that students apply for external scholarships as well as opportunities offered through CCC. The Arizona Community Foundation has one general online application that allows students to apply for over 80 scholarship opportunities at once. Specifically we would like to direct CCC students to the following fund:  Dougherty Foundation Scholarship

To qualify for the Dougherty Foundation Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants must be enrolled at one of these educational institutions: Arizona State University, Grand Canyon University, Northern Arizona University, the University of Arizona, Prescott College, Coconino Community College, Mohave Community College, Thunderbird College, or any of the Maricopa Community Colleges District campuses
  • Minimum enrollment: 6 hours at community college, 12 hours at 4 year university
  • 3.0 GPA
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Arizona Resident
  • Financial Need as demonstrated by the submission of the Student Aid Report from the FAFSA
     

Award Details
Community College:  $250-500 scholarships per semester based on the number of enrolled hours. 

Renewal:  All awards are renewable if the student maintains a 3.0 GPA and is enrolled for at least 6 hours in the community college or 12 hours at the university level. Community college awards are renewable for up to two years. Community college students may request a renewal after two years of award if transferring to a four year school. University awards are renewable for up to four years. Fifth year requests may be made for a loan only.
