Pilates

Introduction to the Pilates method for improving flexibility, strength and total body conditioning. May be taken for S/U credit. Two lecture. Fall, Spring.

 

FIT 103 (1)

Cardio Fitness Workout

An intense cardio-vascular workout that combines aerobic exercise, free-weights, body-sculpting and nutrition. One lecture. May be taken for S/U credit.

 

FIT 111 (2)

Beginning Yoga

Beginning yoga including yoga postures, breathing, history and philosophy. May be taken for S/U credit. One lecture. Two lab. 

 

FIT 155 (3) 

Tai Chi Chuan

An introduction to the basic philosophy and movements of Tai Chi Chuan (Yang Style Long Form). May be taken for S/U credit. Three lecture. Fall, Spring.

 

FIT 202 (2) 

Pilates II

Intermediate studies in the Pilates method for improving flexibility, strength and total body conditioning. May be taken for S/U credit. Two lecture. Fall, Spring.

 

FIT 210 (2) 

Yoga II

Intermediate studies in Yoga including yoga postures, breathing, history, and philosophy. Includes study into various yoga styles including, but not limited to gentle/restorative, flow, yin, Siyananda, and Kripalu. Prerequisite: FIT 111 or Consent of Instructor. May be taken for S/U credit. One lecture. Two lab. Fall, Spring.

 

FIT 298 (1)

Beginning Tennis

Introduction to the fundamental skills of tennis.  Skills to be included are grips, forehand, backhand, serve, volley, and special strokes.   Tennis rules, etiquette, and fitness are also included. Students will be exposed to singles and doubles play. Course is designed for students who have little or no tennis knowledge but all skill levels are welcome. One lecture.
