Applying for Professional Development Funds
Step One: Research your conference or workshop and evaluate all costs associated with the event.
Step Two: Complete your Travel Request
A. Go to My Computer. Go to the K Drive
B. Go to the FInance Folder
C. Open and complete the Travel Request Form
D. Print out Your Travel Request and obtain the necessary signatures. IF YOUR CONFERENCE/WORKSHOP IS OUT OF STATE PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOUR DEAN , VICE PRESIDENT, AND PRESIDENT SIGN YOUR TRAVEL REQUEST. Give the original to Accounting and retain a copy to attach to your Professional Devleopment Funds Application.
Step Three: Evaluate your timeline. Most applications for Professional Development Funds may take up to a month to approve.
Step Four: Fill out Parts I through IV of the Professional Development Funds Application
Step Five: Submit your application
A. Attach conference or workshop information to your application
B. Attach your travel request to your application. Have both you and your department chair or supervisor have signed the application and the travel request? If your conference is out of state you will need to make sure if your Dean and the President sign your application as well.
C. Print out and review your Conference/Workshop Summary Form to bring with you to your event.
