Learning Objects Repository GrowingLearning Objects are described in the grant proposal as: "a collection of digital audio, video, audio-video, text and image files that can be shared by faculty and students on either campus to strengthen learning." (p 37) Essentially learning objects provide an opportunity for the student to review or try out their understanding of a concept taught in the course. John Kofonow, the Title III Web Analyst has been providing training workshops on learning object development and use each semester. New language and student servies learning objects have been developed and added to the Learning Objects link. John Kofonow continues to work with NPC faculty to develop learning objects and web pages. Document ImagingBoth NPC and CCC are in the process of researching and receiving information and bids from vendors for a document imaging solution. This will allow all student records to be stored digitally and provide easier access to and transfer of these documents for student and administrative needs. Administration System UpgradeNPC purchased an upgrade for their Jenzabar administration sytsem that will allow them to focus on distance delivery and web integration of student support services. NPC also signed a contract with SmartThinking.com to provide online tutoring servcies. CCC will be purchasing time with Smarthinking tutors as well.
