In fall of 2004, Coconino CommunityCollege in Flagstaff and Northland Pioneer College in Holbrook were awarded a collaborative Title III Strengthening Institutions grant for nearly $2.5 million. The combined vision and goals of both institutions fuel activities that are providing extended and enhanced distance education opportunities to students in Coconino, Navajo and Apache counties, a service area of nearly 40,000 square miles.
Through working in cooperation on distance learning initiatives, CCC and NPC hope to improve student access to quality online education and support services, while improving student success in completing distance courses, programs, and degrees. Fully online degree programs are being developed and supported by a full complement of online student support services such as admissions, advising, registration, financial aid, career counseling, disability resources, technical help, and tutoring. Students across both districts and three counties will have enhanced opportunities and resources to complete their educational and personal development goals.
