In August 2004 Coconino Community College (CCC) and Northland Pioneer College (NPC) became recipients of a collaborative Strengthening Institutions Program grant authorized under Title III, Part A of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (HEA).
Grant Title: Development of a Distance Learning Resources Partnership
Grant Funding: $2,495,936 over five years (Oct 1, 2004 to Sept 30, 2009)
Through the development of a distance learning partnership, both CCC and NPC plan to strengthen technology infrastructures, increase online course offerings, enhance courses with supplemental learning objects, develop online degrees and certificates, and create comprehensive online student support systems. The objective of these activities is to expand access to and choices for learning throughout the Navajo, Apache, and Coconino counties, as well as to increase retention and graduation rates of distance learners.
Goal One: To strengthen the design and delivery of distance learning courses through development of a Distance Learning Resources Partnership. |
Goal Two: To improve student achievement and career success by developing a comprehensive online student services delivery system for admissions, advising, orientation, career planning, academic and financial personal records. |
Goal Three: To improve student achievement by developing comprehensive online learning support and tutoring services. |
Goal Four: To increase the number of students earning online degrees through the development of online degrees. |
