Placement Testing

Coconino Community College offers placement testing in the areas of Math, English, and Spanish.  All students who wish to take a Math or English class must take the corresponding placement test before registering or have an ACT or SAT score on file. The Spanish test is only required if a student wants to take a class above the SPA 101 (Beginning Spanish I) level. Study guides are available for Math & English. Other Resources listed below:

If you have previously taken placement tests at CCC and would like to request scores be sent to another institution, please click here.

If you would like to take our Math & English placement tests at a remote location, please click here. Our Spanish placement test must be taken at our Lone Tree or Page campus.

Requirements

To take a placement test you must apply and be admitted to CCC.  You will recieve a student ID# which you must bring with you to the test. 

In addition, you must bring a current photo ID. You do not need to bring any writing materials--they will be supplied. All personal items (including cell phones) will be stored until you complete your test.

When you come to take your test, please park anywhere in the student parking lot.  Then stop by the Security Office (near the entrance) for a parking pass.

Fees

Each student is allowed one free placement test in each subject area.  There is a $10 fee per subject area for retakes.  There is a two day waiting period to retest.  Students are allowed one retest per semester. Placement tests taken after the first month of a semester (Fall & Spring) and after the first week of summer semester will be considered a test/retest for the following semester.

Math and English placement tests are good for two years.  Spanish placement tests are good for one year.

All walk-ins must arrive 20 minutes prior to start times in order to complete the registration process.

English and Math

Beginning December 16th, 2009, Math and English placement tests will be offered by appointment (see schedule below).  Walk-ins will be accepted when space is available.   All walk-ins must arrive 20 minutes prior to start times in order to complete the registration process.
