22-00 ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES—POLICY
The DGB mission is to govern on behalf of Coconino County citizens by:
- Employing, evaluating, and supporting a President as the institutional leader
- Select and retain the best President possible
- Define clear parameters and expectations for performance
- Conduct periodic evaluations – provide honest and constructive feedback
- Create an environment for success
- Act ethically in relationship with the President
- Monitoring fiscal health of institution
- Require wise and prudent use of funds and management of assets
- Setting and monitoring policy direction
- Be proactive, visionary, and future-oriented
- Focus on community needs and trends
- Define expectations for high quality programs and student services
- Set parameters to attract and retain high quality personnel and ensure fair treatment of employees
- Schedule a timetable for progress reports
- Advocating for the College
- Actively promote the College in the community
- 2.Foster partnerships with other entities in the community
- 3.Advocate the needs of the College with government officials
- 4.Support the Foundation and fundraising efforts
- 5.Protect the College from inappropriate influence
