520 FINANCIAL AID POLICY
The President of the College or his/her designee is responsible for the development and implementation of financial aid policies including but not limited to general eligibility requirements, application process, verification, student rights and responsibilities, satisfactory progress, refunds and repayments, and veterans educational benefits, etc. in accordance with Federal regulations governing the federal financial assistance programs, College and state regulations.
It is the policy of the College to award all appropriate financial assistance to eligible students in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations to maximize external resources and to assure the highest level of access to College education for the greatest number of students. As one way to accomplish this, the College awards the greatest amount of gift aid (grants and scholarships) that it can before awarding work-study and then loans, and actively works with students to keep loan indebtedness at a minimum.
Financial Aid procedures are recommended by the Director for Student Support Services and Financial Assistance and Controller (when applicable) and approved by the College President or designee in conjunction with the Vice President for Student Affairs and Vice President for Business and Administrative Services.
