301       CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT POLICY

The purpose of curriculum is to facilitate and enhance student learning.  Curriculum standards, integrity, and clarity of both purpose and results are highly important outcomes in the process of curriculum development and revision.

Faculty, who have expertise in curricular areas, are principally responsible for initiating curriculum proposals.  The administration is responsible for acting on these, including making recommendations to the President and District Governing Board for approval.  Curriculum procedures, determined by the College President are designed to achieve the goals stated above and assure that educational faculty are primary participants in the development and revision of curriculum.
