Tables: Aligning Text and Graphics
About Tables
Tables are a great design feature of
documents, particularly web pages that allows you to align text with graphics.
Inserting tables in Front Page is similar to inserting tables in other word processing
applications, including MS Word and Word Perfect.
Examples
Inserting Tables
You will use your Front Page Editor to
insert tables into new web pages and existing web pages in your Front Page Web.
Follow these steps to insert tables into your web pages:
1) Open your Front Page Editor.
2) For new files, Click on the New option in the File
menu option in the tool bar. To add a table to an existing web page, click on the Open
option in the File menu option in the tool bar.
3) Point your cursor on the spot in your web page where you want to insert a table.
4) Go to the Table option in your toolbar and click on Insert Table.

5) Select the number of rows and columns in the pop-up window. You can also specify other
table properties such as alignment, width, cellpadding, cellspacing. (If you have text and
graphics, it is best to use 2 columns and 1 row.)

6) Put your cursor in one of the table cells between the dotted lines.

7) You can copy text from other parts of your web page or from another document and paste
the text into the cell or Insert graphics into this cell.

8) Repeat steps 6 -7 for the other table cells.
9) Save your web page.
10) Spell check your web page.
11) Preview your web page.
12) Publish your web page to the CCC Web
Server.
- Inserting Rows and Columns in Existing Tables

- To add additional rows, simply hit your Tab key. If
additional rows do not appear, then follow these steps:

- 1) Go to Table in the tool bar.
2) Select Insert Rows or Columns.

3) Click on the radio buttons to select Rows or Columns.

4) Choose the proper alignment radio buttons.
5) Click on the OK button.
