Position Summary:

Coordinates the dual enrollment, JTED Central Programs and Carl D. Perkins programs (Tech Prep and Basic Grant). This is a partially grant-funded, full-time, 12-month, benefit eligible position. This position is 1 year temporary that may lead to regular full-time potential based on budget approval.


Essential Functions:

Oversees the implementation of dual enrollment programs at area high schools. Coordinates co-enrollment programs with Joint Technical Education Districts (JTED). Coordinates articulation meeting between high school, JTED and community college representatives. Develops and updates Intergovernmental Agreements. Processes articulation agreements and keeps records of meeting, agreements and instructor employee paperwork. Serves on the CCC curriculum committee and ensures that any changes to secondary articulated curriculum are communicated to dual enrollment instructors. Schedules dual enrollment courses and builds them in the Banner system. Conducts classroom visits to make presentations, to administer placement tests and to collect registration materials. Ensures all dual enrollment requirements are met by instructors. Communicates and promotes the dual enrollment, JTED Central program and the Tech Prep program to high school students, parents, teachers, counselor and administrators.

Creates and develops marketing materials for the Carl D. Perkins program, such as web sites, brochures, newsletters and multimedia presentations using desktop and web publishing and presentation programs. Promotes the Tech Prep and CCC’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs to target audiences.

Coordinates and promotes professional development activities for secondary and post-secondary CTE faculty and staff. Coordinates student-related events.

Implements goals and objectives for the Carl D. Perkins grant programs. Assists in writing the Tech Prep and Basic Grant and proposals. Monitors the Tech Prep and Basic Grant and to ensure goals and objectives are met. Attends state and local meetings. Provides direction and delegates tasks to the grants secretary, dual enrollment instructors and Tech Prep site teams. Ensures Tech Prep Site Teams are meeting deadlines and have completed assigned tasks.

Applies procedures for the Carl D. Perkins.  This includes initiating budgetary expenditures, and allocating human, material and fiscal resources to the program and related activities.  Also includes advising Tech Prep Site Teams, Leadership Team and CCC faculty and staff in allocating resources. Tracks expenditures for the Arizona Department of Education budgets. Processes invoices and personnel action forms.

Assists in measuring the performance of the programs and takes corrective action when necessary.  This includes conducting and analyzing surveys and evaluating the effectiveness of training and professional development opportunities provided to Tech Prep Site Team members and program participants. Responsible for Tech Pep grant reporting requirements. Technical programs to target audiences.

Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of contemporary theories related to occupational/technical and/or post-secondary education.  Skill in effective interpersonal and business communication as applied to interactions in recruitment settings. Skill in organizing people and events.  Ability to work with diverse groups and individuals.  Ability to maintain a flexible schedule.  Ability to travel with the county and state. Ability to work in a multi-cultural, diverse college environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's Degree in business, education, management, technology, CTE or related area, and  4 years related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job and/or as approved by the Human Resources department.

Preference Given To:

Experience in occupational/technical education.  Experience in business management.  Experience interacting with staff, students and faculty in a community college or high school setting. Experience using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Access, etc.), Adobe Software programs.

Wage/Salary:

$33,985 to $42,481 depending on education and experience.
