What kind of learning assistance or tutoring do you offer?
I'm glad you asked. Instead trying to answer the many questions you might have, a visit to the Learning Enhancement Center (LEC) would be the most helpful: http://www.coconino.edu/lec/AboutUs.htm. We also offer help from the CCC Library that many high school students like to use: http://www.coconino.edu/library/. All CCC students have permission to use the NAU Cline Library.

Is there a difference between a high school counselor and a college advisor?
In college, the academic advisors are here to help guide you in your course of study. They answer questions about degrees, certificates, and career plans. Advisors teach you how to guide your education and are here to help with new situations that come up in college. They also work with you if your plan is to transfer to a university after CCC. You need to set an appointment to meet with an advisor. Advisors do not make your class schedule for you. This may be different from what you are used to in high school. For advising appointments, call: 928-226-4323. You can also visit the CCC Advising web page for more information.

What are some of the differences between high school and college?
The #1 difference is that you have to pay for college (check out the Paying For It page). The #2 difference is probably the scheduling of classes. In high school, you might have English, math, science, Spanish, etc., scheduled daily. In college, you decide on your schedule to fit your family and work concerns. Many students schedule their classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays leaving the other days for working and study time.

Does CCC have student housing and meal plans?
No. Our full time students have the option to live in the NAU residence halls and purchase meal plans at NAU, when space is available at NAU. To find out more about living on the NAU campus, check out the Future Students Housing link.

What if I don't know what to study at CCC?
You have come to the right place to start your college education. Many students take general academic classes like English, math and science when they first start college. They also investigate other career fields by taking classes that sound interesting. We also have a career specialist that can help with making the decisions about what college major would be a good fit. For more information, contact Work Force Development Coorldinator via email: Suzanne.Botello@Coconino.Edu.
