I teach jazz dance and fitness classes at CCC, and I have enjoyed teaching here for 10 years. Dance is truly my life: I grew up dancing, studied dance in college, and performed locally and in such exotic
locales as Great Britain and Beijing, China. Since I have studied and taught
movement for over 29
years, I know what makes a good dance program, and CCC is definitely it. We have talented faculty, committed students, and a wonderful diversity of different kinds of dance and
wellness classes. I also
love the general vibe at CCC in addition to the dance program itself. What makes it so great is the welcoming and supportive atmosphere. Students from all walks of life in this community are encouraged to further their education or personal interests here, much more so than at other institutions. Plus there's such a wonderful variety of classes available.
Each semester I teach at CCC is a
very positive experience... and I expect that will continue to be the case for a long time to come!
I love teaching at Coconino Community College for many reasons.
My students are delightful, eager to learn, and interesting. Several of the dance students have become part of my dance company and are fast friends. I usually arrange an outside gathering with fitness and dance classes so we can get to know each other. How fascinating it is to be inspired by the stories I hear.
I have a B.A. in Physical Education and a Master's in Physical Education/Education plus twenty years' experience as director of programming for my private fitness/dance studio near Indianapolis, Indiana. I've had thousands of clients in 32 years of fitness and dance instruction and have taught 25 of my own instructors in Indiana to handle the class load at The Studio which I owned and operated for 10 years.
