Surface:Layered is a symposium and series of workshops covering all topics related to the embellishment and surface design of fiber and its use in both two and three-dimensional works of art. We are concurrently hosting a nationally juried show of artwork by the same name. Download the Prospectus here. The deadline for receipt of submissions has been extended to March 14th Surface:Layered will take place at Coconino Community College in Flagstaff, Arizona from July 28th through August 1st, 2008. Our symposium features top name instructors, beautiful well lit studios, nightly presentations and affordable housing. Students may sign up now for any of our 2-day session and/or 5-day session classes. Summer in Flagstaff features beautiful summer days filled with perfect temperatures and often dramatic afternoon thundershowers. Sedona is only 45 minutes to the south and Grand Canyon is 90 minutes to the north.
