Coconino Community College (CCC) provides a list of preferred Stafford Loan lenders. In 2008, CCC issued a Request for Information (RFI) for prospective lenders. After researching and evaluating lenders, we placed them on our preferred lender list when their loans met certain criteria. The criteria included benefits that can reduce fees when taking out a loan, can lower the interest rate or principal when repaying the loan, good customer service, and participation in electronic processing. Subsequent to our RFI, there was instability in the student loan market and we began evaluating other lenders for their benefits and adjusted our preferred lender list on an ongoing basis. You are free to choose any lender you desire, regardless of whether or not they appear on our preferred lender list, however, not all lenders will provide loans to CCC students. The following lenders have notified CCC that they will not lend to CCC students: JP Morgan Chase, Citibank and Wells Fargo. If you are considering a lender that is not on our Preferred Lender List please contact that lender to find out if they provide loans to CCC students. Due to instability in the student loan market, lenders are changing borrower benefits with little or no notice. Therefore, all above borrower benefits are subject to change without notice. When changes are communicated to us by lenders, we update this list. CCC will process loans from any lender, whether they are on the Preferred Lender List or not, in a timely manner. Making a decision on whom to borrow from is important and the CCC Office of Student Financial Aid is here to help you with any questions.
The following organization guarantees most of our loans:
Our preferred lender list and loan application form may be found at CCC's Student Loan Page.
If you have any questions on our involvement with other financial aid entities, please contact Bob Voytek, Director of the Office of Student Financial Aid at 928-226-4219 or at bob.voytek@coconino.edu.
