Medical Office Assistant: AAS Degree

The Medical Office Assistant degree program prepares students for the varied and expanded responsibilities involved in working within medical offices today. Students will receive training in numerous areas, which will give them a complete understanding of the intricate workings within today’s medical businesses. Graduates will have the skills necessary to obtain a position as a medical office assistant that will be able to perform numerous duties in the front office. Additionally, graduates from the degree program will have training in writing, mathematics and additional subject areas. This is a Tech Prep articulated program. General Education Core Requirements: 25–28 credit hours

MAT 142¹ or a higher course selected from the approved AGEC courses in the Mathematics category. (3–5)

Courses from two or more disciplines must be selected from the approved General Education courses in the Arts/Humanities category

Social/Behavioral (6)
Any approved General Education courses in the Social and Behavioral Sciences category.

Physical /Biological Sciences (4–5)
Any approved General Education course in the Physical/Biological Sciences category.
