FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- Friday, March 28 is the last day for Coconino Community College students to apply for scholarships for the fall 2008 and spring 2009 semesters. And this year, the CCC District Governing Board has approved an additional $40,000 in scholarship funds to help students with rising tuition costs.
“With this new Coconino Grant, the college has made a strong commitment to assist students who are most affected by tuition costs and whose federal financial aid package leaves them short on money to cover tuition,” said CCC Financial Aid Director Bob Voytek.
Students who complete the 2008-’09 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and who just miss the requirements for federal Pell Grants, and those who receive a limited amount of money from Pell Grants, will be given the highest priority for the new Coconino Grant, which ranges from $500 to $1,000 per year.
“It is important for students to complete their FAFSA as soon as possible so that they have the best chance to receive some of the money,” said Voytek.
The FAFSA form can be found online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The CCC scholarship application is available at http://www.coconino.edu/finaid/scholarship_information.htmFor more information about this department, please contact 928-226-4335
