An introduction to the fundamentals of music: reading, notation, rhythm, scales, intervals, triads, sight-singing, and dictation. Three lecture.

Fundamentals of Music
Basic elements of music including study of the staff, clefs, signatures, notes, rhythms, definitions, ear training, sight singing, and dictation. Three lecture.

Jazz History & Literature
History and development of jazz music from its origin to the present day. General Education: Arts and Humanities. Special Requirements: Ethnic/Race/Gender Awareness. Three lecture.

Music Workshop
Designed to provide workshop courses based on student and faculty interest in pursuing or presenting an original topic. Workshops may be developed to enhance existing curriculum or to give students experience that is not covered by existing curriculum.
One-half to six variable credit hours.
