Medical Assistant Certificate
The Medical Assistant certificate is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions as Medical Assistants in medical office businesses. The students will receive training in numerous areas, giving them an understanding of the varied responsibilities and skills necessary for employment. Students completing the certificate are eligible to take the American Medical technologist (AMT) certification exam to become a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).

Clinical:
1. Identify the scope of practice for a Medical Assistant
2. Describe and demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy and physiology
3. Identify the ten major body systems and their functions
4. Apply principles of aseptic technique and infection control
5. Obtain patient history and vital signs
6. Identify equipment and instruments used in office procedures
