Welcome to the Social and Behavioral Sciences (SBS) web page. The Social and Behavioral Sciences uses scientific inquiry to study and better understand the complexities of how cultural, social, and individual experiences impact us on a personal, societal, and global level. What makes us human? How might cultural and societal influences shape our experiences? How might biology and experience impact our behavior and perceptions? How might our shared behavior and perceptions create a culture? These are only a few of the questions addressed in SBS classes.
In pursuit of the above questions, the SBS department provides quality education to students enrolled in Anthropology (ANT), Psychology (PSY), and Sociology (SOC) courses and programs. The Associates of Arts (AA) degrees in each of the above disciplines are designed to transfer to 4-year institutions, especially the three in-state universities. Courses are also included in the General Education (GenEd) curriculum, and are aligned with CCC’s mission to embrace diversity and transform the future through quality education.
We welcome you to browse through the ANT, PSY, and SOC web pages to learn about courses, degrees, careers, SBS faculty, and more.
