FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - For many students, the thought of applying for scholarships can seem overwhelming. The Coconino Community College Office of Student Financial Aid, in partnership with the CCC Foundation and the Arizona Community Foundation, is hosting a Scholarship Opportunities Seminar in February to make the process less daunting.
Current and future students, along with parents, are invited Feb. 15 at 1-2:30 p.m. to CCC's Lone Tree campus, 2800 S. Lone Tree Road, Building Six, to learn how to apply for all CCC scholarships and get information about Arizona Community Foundation Scholarships. Representatives from both foundations will be on hand to answer questions.
The Arizona Community Foundation has renewed its efforts in making more Northern Arizona high school and college students aware of the dozens of scholarships available through their organization. The ACF allows students throughout Arizona to apply for more than 70 scholarship awards using one website. One registration triggers applications for all scholarships that match a student's profile.
High school seniors, current college students, or graduate level students attending schools anywhere in the U.S. can apply through ACF. There are scholarships available for two-year, four-year, and technical schools. Students should apply early to qualify for the most awards. Some award deadlines begin in February, and some deadlines are as late as May.
The CCC Foundation annually awards a multitude of donor directed scholarships, created by friends of CCC who believe in the importance of education and the future. For the 2012-13 academic year, the CCC Foundation proudly awarded more than 50 scholarships.
The CCC Foundation awards scholarships based on merit, financial need, outstanding achievement in specialized fields, or any combination of these criteria. There are many different types of scholarships available, and all students are encouraged to apply.
