Jim Schroeder has been drawing and painting most of his life. It took a crowbar to get crayons and pencils out of his hand at a young age. After majoring in art in college, he pursued a career in his profession as a creative director in the fields of magazine publishing, advertising, corporate identity and package design. He was offered a college teaching position to teach in those disciplines that he has thoroughly enjoyed. He has always enjoyed painting people and the great outdoors. Having a busy career and teaching art, he still manages to keep on painting both in his studio and plein-air locations throughout Arizona.  Working in either oil or acrylics, and painting only in 3 colors and white, Jim has done several commission paintings that have included people and beautiful scenic locations.  He also offers and teaches private and semi-private lessons for those interested in his painting approaches and techniques.
